We love telling people about the exciting things happening at SIDE.

At the start of Term 4, SIDE’s Mini Industry Roadshow had the absolute honour of being invited to run workshops at one of Western Australia’s most remote communities, Tjuntjuntjarra, located in The Great Victorian Desert.

SIDE’s traveling careers incursion, the Mini Industry Roadshow, had the absolute pleasure of visiting the amazing Pilbara recently and engaging students from Roebourne District High School, Pannawonica School, and Onslow School.

More

Recently, SIDE’s Mini Industry Roadshow undertook two amazing tours to our Midwest region visiting Pia Wadjarri Remote Community School, Mullewa District High School, Cue Primary School, and Meekatharra District High School.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend the Presentation Ceremony at Exmouth District High School for the Year 12 students. Although it was a small group of 11 students, the night was a fabulous celebration of their achievements.

More

Mini Industry Roadshow recently visited the incredible remote communities of Gascoyne Junction and Burringurrah, where our trainers engaged not only the students but also community members in an array of practical hands-on skills attainment sessions in Automotive, Plumbing, and Cabinet Making/Carpentry. The sessions not only actively trained students in useful skills but also provided invaluable insights into various trades and possible future pathways for the youth of these remote communities.

More

Mini Industry Roadshow recently visited Bruce Rock, Cunderdin, and Kellerberrin District High Schools, offering students a unique opportunity to experience hands-on skills sessions. These workshops were provided by SIDE’s valued partners Stemsmart, Cabinetry in Schools, and Ricochet Circus, and were aimed to equip young minds with the tools and knowledge needed to explore potential career pathways.

More

The School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) recently embarked on a wonderful journey to Christmas Island and Cocos Islands District High Schools as part of the Mini Industry Roadshow (MiR) Tour made possible through generous funding from the Department of Training and Workforce Development and the Commonwealth Government, with guidance and support from the Indian Ocean Training Group Association.

More

SIDE’s Career Department is thrilled that we could take the highly successful Mini Industry Roadshow (MiR) through the Midwest region, bringing hands-on learning experiences to students across the area.
