The School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) recently embarked on a wonderful journey to Christmas Island and Cocos Islands District High Schools as part of the Mini Industry Roadshow (MiR) Tour made possible through generous funding from the Department of Training and Workforce Development and the Commonwealth Government, with guidance and support from the Indian Ocean Training Group Association.

SIDE’s Career Department is thrilled that we could take the highly successful Mini Industry Roadshow (MiR) through the Midwest region, bringing hands-on learning experiences to students across the area.

SIDE's Mini Industry Roadshow recently embarked on an exciting careers tour to the picturesque Kimberley region of Western Australia.

SIDE in conjunction with DTWD, recently toured The Mini Industry Roadshow up to the picturesque town of Exmouth, Western Australia, engaging the wonderful Year 9 cohort in a program designed to impart skills in a range of creative and technical fields, including drone piloting, virtual reality experiences, mini-robot control, visual dialogue, graphic novel creation, visual illustration, business management, and movie and theatre stunt work.

The Mini Industry Roadshow, a collaboration between SIDE and DTWD, recently took the career workshop out to the beautiful remote town of Jigalong in the Western Australian Pilbara. The Mini Industry Roadshow initiative is aimed at providing students with hands-on experience in a range of industries, expanding their world of work possibilities, as well as exploring potential career paths that students might not have otherwise considered in their community.

SIDE Careers have expanded the Year 9 Career Taster Program in 2023 with the transformative Mini Industry Roadshow initiative.
