Join us in a significant Webex event and view mathematics coming to life through stories.

Creating indigenous education initiatives in mathematics: maths as storytelling

Friday 17 September at 10am. This event is now postponed to Term 4, date to be confirmed.

Professor Matthews is from the Quandamooka people and is passionate about connecting culture and mathematics to transform mathematics education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners. Chris has a PhD in applied mathematics and is currently Associate Dean (Indigenous leadership) Science Faculty, University Technology of Sydney and the Chair of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mathematics Alliance (ATSIMA).

The Webex link to the event is available through Moodle mathematics courses.

Emeritus Professor Cheryl Praeger, recipient of this year's Ruby Payne-Scott Medal, will also be attending as she is passionate about Chris's work.
