It’s National Child Protection Week and this year’s theme focuses on supporting parents so that their children can thrive—offline and online.
Research from the eSafety Commissioner shows 94% of parents feel their child's online safety is important, however less than half felt confident to deal with online threats. To help parents and carers understand and deal with these issues, eSafety has a range of tools, tips and resources available at esafety.gov.au/parents.
During National Child Protection Week, SIDE primary students in years 4-6 will be invited by their teacher to attend a Virtual Classroom session. The session, Online friends and strangers’, is designed to empower students to identify and establish online safety boundaries.
