Nikki was recently named a winner in the Canning Art Awards. Nikki won the Youth Award in Painting for her work ‘Into the Abyss’.
Richard Wu, Nikki’s SIDE teacher, said, ‘When I saw this artwork, I was immediately drawn to the man’s eyes and the sense of despair enhanced by the blues inlaid into his sullen complexion. Nikki only picked up oil painting last year. She has almost mastered this medium in such a short time, which is amazing. It is no surprise this won.’
