Year 11 and 12 students from Mukinbudin DHS visited SIDE in Week 2 to meet with their SIDE teachers and with other SIDE students studying the same subjects.
The students were accompanied by their SIDE Supervisor, Caitlin Hogan and Principal, Gavin Stevens, and stayed in the SIDE Accommodation Units during their stay.
Across three days, students were able to work intensively with their teachers, whilst Caitlin Hogan was able to meet with all teachers to discuss student progress. Student Coordinator, Liz Wells took the group on a tour around SIDE. They were thrilled to learn that Troye Sivan (2018 Hall of Fame inductee) was a former SIDE student.
While school was a focus, students were able to explore the Leederville area, taking the opportunity to visit different shops. Students also showed off their culinary skills, cooking the evening meal on two evenings. They also enjoyed an evening at the movies.
Students found the accommodation very comfortable and valued their time with their teachers.
