STUDENTS       DOE STAFF

Artist Kamsani Bin Salleh joined us at our Leederville campus this week and completed two splendid paintings.

Kamsani is descended from the Nimunburr, Bunuba and Yawuru peoples of the Kimberley and the Ballardong Noongar people of the Perth region in WA. He is an emerging artist whose work is gaining attention for his striking black line work and his ability to reflect the natural world with intricate design.

His works at SIDE depict the land and the coast of WA where distance education students live. Cleverly embedded within the art are animals and sea life that are found in WA. A time lapse video of Kamsani creating the pieces has been captured to share with our students around Western Australia, Australia and beyond.

Kamsani’s work will be part of our Student Hub – a Centenary project creating a place to meet, make connections, study and exchange ideas with other SIDE students and teachers.
