During Term 2, Year 8 students built a personalised jewellery box in SIDE’s workshop.
The students used a CNC machine to fabricate the parts. This process uses computer assisted manufacturing software to communicate with a router which cuts the wood. They used traditional hand skills to complete the box. There were many interesting designs for the laser etched inlay. The girls worked enthusiastically and the results speak for themselves.
