Cabinetry: Nathan from Cabinetry-in-Schools ran a fun, fast-paced workshop that gave students a great introduction to woodwork and design. He talked about why accuracy and attention to detail are important in construction and showed the varied career options within the field. Students got stuck into actual projects, using their creativity and skills to make something they could take home.

Electrical Engineering: Blake impressed students with his knowledge of electrical engineering. Students developed practical skills in connecting and correcting circuit boards as well as powering their own mini devices. Blake also spoke to the students about skydiving, highlighting the key requirements such as mental alertness, the ability to follow directions and heightened self-awareness, and several other skills that are highly transferrable to various industries.

Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research: Students were offered the opportunity to step into the shoes of medical researchers, learning about innovative advancements in the health industry and engaging in fascinating activities on medical research. The interactive workshop captivated students as they worked collaboratively in a simulated laboratory to “find a cure.” This experience not only ignited a passion for science among the students but also broadened their horizons about potential career paths in the medical and healthcare industry.

Thank you to all the schools for welcoming us and hosting the Mini Industry Roadshow.
