2025 | Term 4 | Week 1

The Mini Industry Roadshow had the pleasure of visiting Pia Wadjarri Remote Community School and Cue Primary School in Term 4.

The professional trainers from School of Isolated and Distance Education conducted sessions in Cabinetry, Hairdressing and Plumbing. The sessions not only actively trained students in useful skills but also provided invaluable insights into various trades and potential future pathways for the youth of these remote communities.

Cabinetry: Nathan from Cabinetry-in-Schools delivered an inspiring, fast-paced workshop highlighting design and the importance of precision in the construction industry. Students explored diverse trade career opportunities and finished the session with a personalised project they could proudly take home.

Hairdressing: Pauline, our fantastic hairdressing trainer, taught students the importance of good hair hygiene for overall health, along with tips for keeping a healthy scalp and well-groomed hair. She also added a creative element by demonstrating styling techniques, including braiding, colour wrapping, beading, and adding feather adornments.

Plumbing: Finnian’s hands-on workshop 'Basics of Plumbing' enthralled the students. They learned about essential plumbing tools, how to use them effectively, valuable tips and tricks they can use in their communities and gained insights on water conservation and other responsible practices.

Thanks to all the students and staff from Pia Wadjarri and Cue Primary School for welcoming us to your community.
