SIDE Regional and Remote Teaching Team (RRTT)
SIDE’s RRTT works in partnership with regional and remote schools to develop and teach place based, culturally responsive learning programs. Subject specialists work collaboratively in small teams and closely with partner schools to engage their students in a learning program that is mapped to the WA Curriculum and grounded in Aboriginal cultural and community knowledge.
How can we help you with Two-Way approaches?
- Provide subject specialist knowledge, practical skills and resources to support schools in embedding WA Curriculum into their Two-Way learning.
- Recognise the importance of local Aboriginal communities deep cultural knowledge and connections to land and water when developing and teaching place based, culturally relevant learning programs.
- Being present during On Country experiences and bringing that rich cultural learning and knowledge into students’ classrooms.
- Value and respect what schools and their Aboriginal communities are doing already by supporting opportunities for students to bridge both worlds in their classrooms.
SIDE’s RRTT is committed to listening deeply and building relationships with students, partner schools, Elders and local communities to develop place-based programs that are responsive to the learning needs of students.
