SIDE's Mini Industry Roadshow had the pleasure of visiting Northampton District High School, Pia Wadjarri School, Cue Primary School, and Mt Magnet District High School. The trainers engaged students with hands-on industry activities and discussions that were truly rewarding.
Professional and dedicated trainers Bonnie Blewitt (Hospitality), Nathan Kell (Carpentry), and Ella Norton (Plumbing) thoroughly enjoyed sharing their diverse trade experiences with the students and it was inspiring to see the student's enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
Hospitality: During the hospitality workshops with Bonnie, students gained valuable skills in customer service and team management. They enjoyed engaging in fun role-playing activities, which helped them apply what they learned in a practical setting. Additionally, they explored the art of coffee making, adding an exciting element to their experience.
Carpentry: Nathan from Carpentry-in-Schools workshop was an exciting opportunity for students to work with wood and create their unique projects. This hands-on experience provided them with skills in measuring and cutting, joinery techniques, tool proficiency, problem-solving, attention to detail, mathematical skills, creativity, and safety awareness.
Plumbing: Ella's hands-on workshop exploring the basic skills in plumbing, which included essential plumbing tools, pipe fitting, leak detection and repair, safety practices, and water management. Students also gained valuable insights on water conservation and other responsible practices.
Thank you, Northampton District High School, Pia Wadjarri School, Cue Primary School, and Mt Magnet District High School.
