The focus for this unit is Modern Nations in the 20th Century: China 1935-1989.
Students learn about:
- Significant ideologies, including Marxism, Maoism and Dengism
- The Chinese Revolution
- Deng Xiaoping in the post-Mao era and other key leaders.
A4HIM
The focus for this unit is The Modern World since 1945 including: The changing European World since 1945
Students learn about:
- The Cold war
- Division of Europe post WW2
- Key ideas – arms race, space race, nuclear threat, the collapse of communism
- The role of significant people and events eg Cuban Missile Crisis.
