Course Content Description: |
The EAL/D courses are designed for students who speak another language or dialect as their first or ‘home’ language. EAL/D focuses on development of the competent use of Standard Australian English (SAE) in a range of contexts.
The EAL/D ATAR course develops academic English skills to prepare students for tertiary study.
A3ELD
In this unit, students:
- Use communication skills to evaluate how texts present ideas and opinions.
- Understand the relationships between information, ideas, language and values in texts.
- Investigate and compare perspectives in a range of texts.
- Plan and create oral, written and multimodal texts appropriate to purpose and audience.
A4ELD
In this unit, students:
- Respond to issues and ideas using effective communication skills.
- Investigate the relationships between information, ideas, language and values in a range of texts.
- Examine perspectives in a range of texts.
- Plan and create oral, written and multimodal texts appropriate to a range of contexts, purposes and audiences.
