Course Content Description: |
A1MAA
In this unit, students
- review concepts in consumer arithmetic for earning and managing money including the use of spreadsheets
- are introduced to matrices for use in solving real-life problems
- study similarity and apply this to the solution of simple and compound geometric shapes, including 3-dimensional shapes.
A2MAA
In this unit, students
- apply statistical investigation to organize and summarize univariate data
- extend trigonometry to solve practical problems with right and non-right triangles in 2 dimensions and 3 dimensions, including the use of bearings and angles of elevation and depression
- use linear equations and linear graphs, including step and piecewise graphs, to model and analyse practical situations
