Course Content Description:

A1ACF

The focus of this unit is on double entry accounting for small business including:

  • Financial institutions and sources of finance
  • Financial systems and fundamental principles – business ownership
  • Recording, using and evaluating financial information – GST, journals, ledgers
  • The role and influence of government and other bodies on small business.

A2ACF

The focus for this unit is accrual accounting:

  • The nature of risks to small business
  • Financial reports – depreciation, inventories
  • Processing financial information – general journals, income statements
  • The role of professional accounting and financial associations.
Recommended Background: C grade or higher in Year 10 Humanities and Social Sciences and Mathematics
