Course Content Description:

A school-based apprenticeship or traineeship  provides students aged 15 years or older with the opportunity to combine part-time paid employment with their secondary school studies. Students gain valuable employment skills, hands-on industry experience and a nationally recognised qualification.

School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships are available in a wide variety of industry areas such as:

Automotive

Business Services

Beauty Therapy

Community Services

Engineering

Construction

Financial Services

Hairdressing

Health Services

Horticulture

Information Technology

Hospitality

Plumbing

Tourism, and many more!

Students need to find an employer willing to train them in their workplace. It is recommended that students complete a period of work experience prior to considering this option.

Students enter into a National Training Contract, a legal agreement between the student, the employer and the school.

Training is coordinated and supervised by a Registered Training Organisation (such as TAFE).
