Course Content Description:

This unit explores spatial patterns and processes of environments at risk including:

  • The concepts of environment, biome, ecosystem and sustainability
  • A depth study of forest management e.g. Jarrah Forest
  • A depth study of coastal ecosystems e.g. Great Barrier
  • Geographic skills development using maps, graphs, diagrams and data.

G2GEO

This unit explores natural and cultural characteristics of regions including:

  • The concepts of regions, sustainability and change
  • A depth study of South East Asia
  • A depth study of a country town
  • Geographic skills development using maps, graphs, diagrams and data.
Recommended Background: C grade or higher in Year 10 Humanities and Social Sciences
Mode of Delivery: In Moodle and live, online lessons

External Examination: No external examination in Year 11, however, a compulsory Externally Set Task (EST) in Term 2 Year 12
