Course Content Description:

A1VAR

The focus for this unit is Differences. Students will:

  • Explore approaches to drawing and documenting ideas
  • Develop an understanding of visual language
  • Research visual artists and develop a case study based on an artist of choice
  • Develop an awareness of styles of representation before creating a stylistic artwork of their own

 

A2VAR

The focus for this unit is Identities. Students will:

  • Explore and develop ideas and media associated with the concept of identity
  • Develop understanding of visual language, personal response and interpretation in their written responses
  • Research visual artists and develop a case study based on an artist of choice
  • Develop a personal approach to express personal, social or cultural identity in the form of a unique artwork
Recommended Background: C grade or higher in Year 10 Art and English
Mode of Delivery: In Moodle and live, online lessons

External Examination: External Practical examination compulsory in Term 3 and Written examination in Term 4 Year 12
