STUDENTS       DOE STAFF

SIDE’s travelling careers incursion, The Mini Industry Roadshow, had the delightful pleasure of visiting the Western Australian Southwest region to engage the students from Esperance Senior High School and Ravensthorpe District High School.

The students felt inspired after a fabulous workshop from Harry Perkins Medical Research, who are a dedicated organisation tackling world heath issues. Students had the opportunity to explore career pathways in medical research and STEM through hands-on-fun activities. Carpentry-in-Schools gave students an in-depth look at the world of a cabinet maker, with the students thoroughly enjoying being able to create and build with wood. Leon Ewing gave the students a wonderful opportunity to experience the wide variety of career pathways sound engineering can lead to. Students got the chance to program and develop their own songs and had great fun sharing their creations.

The Mini Industry Roadshow through the Southwest region was a fabulous series of workshops designed to inspire students to explore different career pathways and to hear from actual industry professionals in a fun and exciting experience.
