The Mini Industry Roadshow, SIDE’s traveling careers program made a wonderful journey through the stunning Pilbara.
The program had the honour of visiting both Jigalong Remote Community School and Tom Price Senior High School.
With SIDE’s ongoing commitment to providing quality services to all schools in Western Australia and the support of The Department of Training and Workforce Development, we were able to provide the students with 3 amazing hands-on skills training workshops with industry professional in the fields of carpentry and cabinet making, rigging for mining and performance, and medical research.
Tom Price Senior High School
Cabinetry in Schools introduced the students to the stunning artistry of woodwork while sneaking in some very important mathematics and history lessons that fascinated and inspired the students towards trades. All Directions Performance and Rigging introduced the students to the dynamic high-energy industry of professional rigging and the widespread career opportunities it can lead to. Lastly, Harry Perkin's Institute of Medical Research shed light on the captivating field of bioengineering, inspiring students to explore a career in medical research and STEM through hands-on fun activities.
