Mini Industry Roadshow recently visited Bruce Rock, Cunderdin, and Kellerberrin District High Schools, offering students a unique opportunity to experience hands-on skills sessions. These workshops were provided by SIDE’s valued partners Stemsmart, Cabinetry in Schools, and Ricochet Circus, and were aimed to equip young minds with the tools and knowledge needed to explore potential career pathways.
Students got a taste of the future as they discovered the fascinating field of robotics, learning how drones, VR, and robots will automate future industries. This immersive experience not only broadened the student’s knowledge and skills but also encouraged them to consider the endless possibilities of a career in STEM.
Cabinetry in Schools allowed budding craftspeople to hone their trade skills by working on hands-on cabinetry projects. The students not only crafted tangible items but also developed an appreciation for the craftsmanship behind creating functional and aesthetically pleasing pieces.
Lastly, Ricochet Circus brought entrepreneurship to the forefront, providing students with insights into how to start their own businesses. In this workshop, students discovered the intricacies of business development, from start to finish, sparking dreams of future endeavours and how to turn your interests into a profitable career.
SIDE’s Mini Industry Roadshow would not be possible without the support of the Department of Training and Workforce Development, SIDE’s Career and VET department, and the amazing industry professionals who work to create exciting and innovative workshops that inspire students to imagine all possibilities the wide world of work has to offer them in the future.
