Course Content Description:

G3HIM

The focus for this unit is Societies and Change: Australia 1914-1949:

 

Students learn about:

  • The impacts of politics, economics, leadership, international relations
  • Elements of society and culture and their values, beliefs and traditions
  • Key people’s methods and strategies and groups seeking change.

G4HIM

The focus for this unit is Historical Trends and Movements:  The civil rights movement in the USA 1941-1971

Students learn about:

  • Elements of society at the start of the period
  • The development of movements and trends through the period
  • Methods and strategies used by leaders, individuals and groups, including Martin Luther King and Malcolm X.
Recommended Background: OLNA literacy standard met

External Examination: Externally Set Task (EST) compulsory in Term 2 Year 12
