In April a second tour to Perth occurred for senior girls, with students accommodated in the homes of city students. Examples of school work by Correspondence School students were included in the Children’s Exhibition Hall at the Royal Agricultural Show for the first time. The association between the Correspondence School and the Royal Agricultural Show continued for many years.
Student work at the Royal Show was judged. The image shows the First Prize book plate for a Murchison student, Edgar Campbell, who was awarded his prize for an original story. One of Edgar's relatives recalled that he "had few playmates and he was a great story writer. He and his friend Jock Sharpe who lived next door used to correspond with each other by letters which were carried by mail truck each week. Edgar wrote an episode of his current story each week and sent it to Jock." (Personal letter from family to SIDE Principal)
