Course Content Description: |
In the wood context, the Materials Design and Technology General course develops students’ skills in designing and manufacturing wooden products while exploring how materials shape technology and society. Students gain hands-on experience in working, processing, and shaping wood, alongside problem-solving, creative thinking, and communication skills. They investigate the social, cultural, and environmental impacts of material use, preparing them for further study, trades, or careers in design, manufacturing, and related industries. The course builds both practical craftsmanship and the ability to make informed decisions about materials in a modern technological world. |
