Course Content Description:

Unit 3

The emphasis of this unit using the context of Wetland Ecology is on the movement of energy and matter in ecosystems. The following topics will be covered:

  • Science inquiry skills
  • Earth systems and cycles in nature
  • Structure and function of biological systems
  • Ecosystems and sustainability
  • Species continuity and change.

Unit 4

The emphasis of this unit using the context of Vehicles and Drivers is on properties of chemical substances and the effects of energy and forces on objects. The following topics will be covered:

  • Science inquiry skills
  • Chemical reactions
  • Mixtures and solutions
  • Motion and forces
  • Energy.
