Course Content Description:

A3GEO

The unit focuses on global environmental change including:

  • The concepts of environment, anthropogenic biomes and land cover change
  • A depth study of the links between climate change and land cover
  • An investigation of land cover restoration
  • Geographic skills development using maps, graphs, diagrams and data

A4GEO

The unit focuses on planning sustainable places including:

  • The concepts of urbanisation, world population growth and human wellbeing
  • A depth study of urban challenges eg congestion, urban sprawl
  • An investigation of the urban issue of transportation and sustainability
  • Geographic skills development using maps, graphs, diagrams and data.
Recommended Background: C Grade in HASS Year 11. It is helpful to have completed Year 11 Geography.
