Course Content Description:

A3MAS

In this unit, students

  • extend complex numbers into polar form
  • use knowledge of functions and techniques of calculus for sketching graphs and solving integration problems
  • use vectors in 3 dimensions and work vector equations and vector calculus
  • solve geometric problems in 3D space and solve motion problems in 3D space

A4MAS

In this unit, students

  • continue the study of differentiation and integration
  • apply calculus to solve simple differential equations with application to biology and kinematics
  • study the distribution of sample means
Recommended Background: B grade or higher in Year 11 ATAR Mathematics Specialist
