• The Chinese Revolution
• Deng Xiaoping in the post-Mao era and other key leaders.

The focus for this unit is The Modern World since 1945 including:  The changing European World since 1945

Students learn about:

• The Cold War
• Division of Europe post WW2
• Key ideas – arms race, nuclear threat, the collapse of communism
• The role of significant people and events eg Hungarian Uprising.
