Year 11 General EAL/D

The EAL/D courses are designed for students who speak another language or dialect as their first or 'home' language. EAL/D focuses on development of the competent use of Standard Australian English (SAE) in a range of contexts. The EAL/D General course prepares students for a range of post-secondary destinations in further education, training and the workplace.

G1ELD

In this unit, students

• Communicate ideas and opinions in a range of contexts
• Demonstrate literal and inferential comprehension of information, ideas and language used in texts
• Understand and apply social and cultural references from different contexts
• Plan and create oral, written and multimodal texts appropriate to purpose and audience

G2ELD

In this unit, students

• Use communication skills to analyse and compare attitudes and values in texts
• Demonstrate literal and inferential comprehension of information, ideas and language used in texts
• Understand personal, social and cultural attitudes and perspectives in a range of texts from different contexts
  
• Plan, create and refine oral, written and multimodal texts appropriate to context, purpose and audiences
