Course Content Description: |
A school-based apprenticeship or traineeship provides students aged 15 years or older with the opportunity to combine part-time paid employment with their secondary school studies. Students gain valuable employment skills, hands-on industry experience and a nationally recognised qualification. School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships are available in a wide variety of industry areas such as:
Students need to find an employer willing to train them in their workplace. It is recommended that students complete a period of work experience prior to considering this option. Students enter into a National Training Contract, a legal agreement between the student, the employer and the school. Training is coordinated and supervised by a Registered Training Organisation (such as TAFE). |
