Course Content Description:

G1MAE

In this unit, students

  • use algebra techniques to find an unknown quantity in a formula
  • solve linear, area and volume problems
  • interpret line graphs
  • use percentages in practical situations related to nutrition and health, and earning money

G2MAE

In this unit, students

  • solve problems relating to representing and comparing data
  • solve problems involving percentages
  • solve problems involving rates and ratios
  • solve problems involving time and motion

Applications of the above involve transport, travel and independent living.
Recommended Background: C grade or higher in Year 10 Mathematics
