Course Content Description:	A1PAL The focus for this unit is Democractic Principles. Students learn about: Systems of Government including Australia Operating principles of a liberal democracy Roles of the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government Influences on the structure of government Law-making in Australia. The legal system in WA and a non-adversarial system. A2PAL The focus for this unit is Representation and Justice. Students learn about: Political representation, parties and pressure groups Electoral and voting systems Contemporary political and legal issues, including potential reforms Case Study: comparison of weaknesses of the WA and French legal systems
Recommended Background:	C grade or higher in Year 10 Humanities and Social Sciences
