SIDE’s Open Day on Friday 16 November brought together past and present staff, students and their families to celebrate 100 years of distance education.
Historical displays and exhibitions of student work were a feature of the day which attracted hundreds of visitors to the Leederville site. Visitors could join in a range of fun activities such as the interactive art area, enjoy refreshments, take a photo at the Photo Booth, tour the school and sign the Visitor’s Book. Highlights of the day were the dedication of the Centenary Garden by Mayor Emma Cole of the City of Vincent, and the induction of the inaugural Hall of Fame recipients, which celebrates the successes of students in their post-school lives. Read further information about the six inaugural recipients; Clarence Eakins, Sadie Canning MBE, Dr Martin Dougiamas, Tonya McCusker AM, Troye Sivan Mellet and Tamsin Cook.
We were delighted to welcome so many people to the Leederville campus.
