This unit covers:

  • Growth and development – principles, relationships, theories; family types, influences
  • Taking Action – communicating and advocating, justice and injustice issues; processes for meeting needs, products, services, systems; self-management and interpersonal skills
  • Influences and Impacts – social structures and systems, attitudes, beliefs, values: social issues and trends, cultural diversity, ethical and legal awareness

This unit covers:

  • Growth and development – nature of and factors affecting growth and development, theories; impact of change, influence of government and community strategies
  • Taking Action: communicating and advocating, evaluation, role, types of advocacy, advocacy skills, aims of empowerment; meeting needs ethical, environmental and technological features of products, services systems
  • Influences and Impacts: social - factors impacting social cohesion; effect of changing work and living patterns, sustainable living patterns:  ethical and legal awareness
