  • A SIDE student's extraordinary journey

    Wan-Yi Sweeting - Academic Dux 2012

    By any measure, Wan-Yi Sweeting is an extraordinary young woman. She came to Australia aged 11, to board at a large Perth girls' school. At 13, she was selected for the WA Tennis Academy, which meant a hectic international touring schedule, and she chose to continue her schooling with SIDE.

  • An Olympian in our midst

    Tamsin Cook

    SIDE is proud to have an Olympic athlete as one of our Year 12 students. Swimmer Tamsin Cook has been selected to represent Australia in Rio in the 400m and 800m freestyle events. Tamsin's achievement is made even more remarkable by being the youngest member of the swimming team.

    SIDE is proud to have classical pianist Joshua Noronha as one of our Year 11 students.

  • Congratulations Raymond Binsiar - ABC Heywire Winner

    In December 2018 SIDE student Raymond Binsiar from Buttah Windie near Meekatharra was a regional winner of the Heywire competition.

    Former SIDE student, Greta Small competed in the Winter Olympics in South Korea in February.

  • Halogen National Young Leaders Day

    Students from SIDE recently attended the Halogen National Young Leaders Day at the Perth Convention Centre. Year 12 students Alysa, Charlotte, Fleur and Imke were accompanied by Student Services Coordinator Stacey Mylonas. They attended sessions with students from throughout Western Australia.

    Congratulations to SIDE student Jack Choate on his fantastic performance at the recent Senior Canoe Slalom Nationals in Victoria.

  • Mariah’s ocean adventure

    Mariah’s ocean adventure

    Year 12 student Mariah Prunster is a recipient of the Western Australian Secondary School Executives Association Leeuwin Scholarship. She was prompted to apply after hearing about the Leeuwin Sail Training Ship from family and friends, and joined a seven day voyage of a lifetime from Fremantle in September.

  • Rhys Allan News Update

    Rhys has been selected in the Australian Judo Youth Olympics team which will be held in Bueno Aries in October 1 – 6.

  • SIDE Equestrian qualifies for Australian National Interschool Championships

    SIDE Year 8 student, Lauren Rowe successfully competed in the WA Interschool Equestrian Festival at the State Equestrian Centre in April.

  • SIDE Student wins Gold medals at the Australian Judo Nationals

    This has been a big year for SIDE student Rhys Allan. Rhys, a member of the UWA Judo Club, won two gold medals at the Australian Judo Nationals for under-18s and under-21s.
