Welcome to SIDE and the 2022 school year!

The 2022 school year starts on Monday 31st January. Students should access their student email and log in to Moodle. Teachers will contact students via Moodle, phone or email within the first few days of the school year.

New SIDE Students in 2022

SIDE primary students should be contacted by their class teachers with information related to getting started with SIDE.

If you are a secondary student commencing at SIDE in 2022, you should have received an email with the subject line Getting Started at SIDE (sender: enrolments@side.wa.edu.au). This email is sent to your DoE email address.

It is vital that you log in to Moodle as soon as possible, using your DoE username and password. To get to Moodle, use the Quick Links menu on the banner or the E-Learning tab and select Moodle.

You will then have access to either SIDE Launchpad or SIDE Essentials to get started. Your teachers will add you to your subject courses as soon as possible.

You may already know your password if you're situated in a DoE school. It will be the one you use to log in to school computers.

You can change or reset your password and set a user validation question.

If you are new to SIDE and not based in a DoE school, you have been sent a Password for SIDE learning IMPORTANT email with password instructions.

Continuing SIDE students from 2021

Continuing SIDE primary students should use their 2021 login details.

If you were a home-based secondary SIDE student in 2021 you will not receive a 'Getting Started at SIDE' email. You should log in to Moodle using your DoE username and password.

You can refer to the Troubleshoot page under the E-Learning tab on this website for support or secondary students can use the Fast Track to SIDE document.

Parents should read the K-6 Role of Parents or Home Tutor or the Year 7-12 Parent Supervisor FAQ.

If you have not received your 'Getting Started at SIDE' email, studenthelp@side.wa.edu.au.

If you have forgotten or don’t know your DoE login details:

  • Government school students: ask your SIDE supervisor or someone in Administration at your school for help.
  • Home-based or Non-government school students: email your SIDE Student Coordinator or call 9311 1400 or studenthelp@side.wa.edu.au.
