Career Education (7CE01 and 7CE02)

This semester long module is strongly recommended for all Year 10 students as it is designed around the following four career elements:

  • Self Exploration – exploring your skills and your abilities because these are the most valuable assets that you bring to the workforce
  • World of Work – understanding the changes of the Australian workforce so that you can make decisions about your future working life
  • Career Planning – considering the many choices available to you and making important decisions about your future
  • Managing Transition – developing useful job seeking skills.

At the end of this module you will be provided with the following skills:

  • Opportunity to access information on future study and employment options, as well as to analyse, plan and implement career decisions
  • A competitive resume
  • A personal and comprehensive career portfolio
  • Job search methods and interview techniques
  • An enhanced awareness of Year 11/12 subject selection
  • Preparation for Year 11 subject selection and career planning
  • Identifying strengths and abilities, personal qualities and goals, workplace qualities and transferable skills
  • Opportunity to participate in work experience
  • A Worksafe Smart Move Certificate
  • A comprehensive investigation into a career.
