The Technology and Enterprise learning area offers a range of WACE and VET courses.
Accounting and Finance Stage 2 and 3
The Accounting and Finance course is designed to facilitate the achievement of financial literacy in personal and/or business contexts. Students will develop an understanding of the fundamentals on which accounting and financial management are based.
This course provides students with the opportunity to further their understanding of the financial world, giving them problem-solving skills to operate at many levels of financial decision making - from banking transactions to the management of personal investments and the financial planning and control of business.
Automotive Engineering and Technology Stage 1
The focus of this subject is for students to gain an understanding of the principles and systems around which vehicles operate. The reasons and skills to service, maintain and repair are also explored. Safe workshop practices and correct use of tools takes place when you service, examine and diagnose problems. Current vehicle safety standards, fuels and environmental issues are all part of these content cells.
The content cells aim to develop your knowledge, understanding, terminology and mechanical skills.
The tasks provide the opportunity to develop the skills for safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repairs of small engines and motor vehicles.
Business Management & Enterprise Stage 1
The Business Management and Enterprise course gives students the opportunity to understand how vital business is and how it impacts on every aspect of our lives.
Children Family and Community Stage 1
The Children, Family and Community course provides opportunities for students to develop understandings and skills necessary for parenting and future careers that involve working with young children. Students are required to demonstrate achievement through field research, oral presentations, portfolios and designing and trialling activities with children.
Design (Photography) Stage 1
This course equips students with the knowledge and skills to understand and interpret the principles of design through photographic means. Students learn a range of camera techniques and then demonstrate their skills in the design and production of photographic images.
Design (Technical Graphics) Stage 1
This course equips students with the skills to understand and interpret the principles of design though technical graphics. Students will draw on their knowledge of the conventions of technical drawing and computer aided design and a design process to solve design problems for specific users that deal with two and three dimensional subjects of an industrial or architectural nature.
Materials Design Technology (Wood) Stage 1
This course equips students with the knowledge and skills to design and construct a range of wood based projects. Students learn a range of design techniques and woodworking skills, and then demonstrate their skills in making projects of their own design
VET Business Services Certificate 1 and 2
The VET Business Services courses offer and practical introduction to working in an office environment.
